Review: Miss Taken by Cleo Scornavacca

4 Stars
"Everyday is a gift. When you choose to not accept what life has to offer, it's an opportunity missed."

Love...The ultimate Loss of Control

Rain and Raven Medici are identical twins. Although they come from a loving close-knit family their childhoods couldn't have been more different. Raven went to school and was exposed freely to the outside world. Rain on the other hand was born with the blood disorder and denied many normal childhood experiences.

Once grown, Raven becomes a lawyer at their dad's firm Kane & Medici in NYC. Rain along with her only childhood friend Tommy Conte, builds a very successful business as professional photographers. Travelling between Europe and Manhattan, and enjoying a world that was kept from her,Rain vows never to be controlled again.

Rain and Raven are identical twins, but that is where the similarities end. Raven likes to be in control where she works at there dad's law firm as a lawyer, and Rain after being confined for most of her childhood is a photographer and is very good at it.

Now enter Dominick Kane.... OMG he is alpha to the max more so then most alphas in books I think he can take things to the extreme, all he wants is revenge against the people he things did him wrong. He wants his dad's share in Kane and Medici and then bring it to the ground. So he comes up with this plan to kidnap Raven, but instead he gets Rain and has no idea.

I really liked Rain but with most girls in this books I just wanted to punch her in the face sometimes, I get she didn't have an easy childhood being cooped up inside with only her family and Tommy as company, her mum taking overprotective to a whole new level. Dominick man as I said Alpha to the max total anger issues, control issues, and just issues in general.

Once Dominick realizes his mistake he is livid but they work out a compromise and things progress from there. Their relationship gave me a headache the on again off again because one of them went off the deep end and wouldn't listen to the other taking things the wrong way etc, I get this happens in relationships hell I've done this so as hubby, but shit can only take so much before you get a migraine. Rain's relationship with Tommy I understood but still found it weird how dependent she was on him even though she was with Dominick who should have being the one to take care of her if she let him.

Right from the start it takes you on a wild ride the twists and turns, ups and downs, as I said its a wild ride but well worth it I really enjoyed it the ending oh my the ending I loved it but I will warn you its a cliffhanger of sorts I cannot wait for book 2 I need book 2 I want to see what happens next and how the characters react and where the story takes us next.

I highly recommend this books to lovers of all things alpha and if you want a great story with twists and turns and things you never see coming.

"Don't deny how you feel; I feel it, too. It's foolish to pretend there is nothing between us."

A vampire themed masquerade ball isn't really her scene, but Nora is sick of frat parties and bars. When she meets Alec, the appeal suddenly becomes clear. It's obvious that they've been struck by the same intense mutual attraction, but Alec keeps his distance. Intrigued despite herself, Nora pushes a little deeper-and discovers Alec's unimaginable secret...

Nora is not afraid of following Alec into the darkness, but the choice is soon taken from her. Someone is hunting her-someone tied to the secret and desperate to see it play out. But when Nora finally meets her aggressor, she finds herself hopelessly drawn to him. She needs to make a choice between the two men, but can she save them both, knowing one is destined to die.

**Copy provided generously by Netgalley**

I didn't know what to expect from this book, the blurb sounded great and intriguing, it was getting rave reviews so when I seen a copy of it on Netgalley I thought why not and hope to be accepted.

The story starts off with Nora and her roommate Scarlett getting ready to go a masquerade ball being held at an old church on campus being held by a group heavily into vampires. It is here that she meets Alec and is instantly drawn to him and ready to find a nook in the church to get it on!!! The attraction is mutual then along comes comes Caleb a more handsome and more intense brother who surprise surprise she wants to get it on with him also.

Now that characters I have no idea what team I'm on i kept thinking through the whole book what about Alec I get she loves 2 guys which is fine that can work and then crap goes down and you do things for both of them and would sacrifice yourself if you had to. I think I'm team Alec as much as I loved Caleb there was something about Alec. I love Nora's sarcastic nature, she is deeply loyal to not only the brothers but her best friend Scarlett she is a person I would love to be friends with. At times I just wanted to yell at her WAKE UP!!! just stop and listen instead of just running into it but that's Nora's nature.

I absolutely loved the mythology side to all this the Cain and Able, Adam and Eve, Lilith and how it all came about and all the different interactions of them, Miss Daltry made is easy to follow which was a big help and also Nora's professor Henry who was a great addition to the story, this book has everything vampires, children eating demons all tied in with the history and mythology of where and how it started.

If your into all that and its not over the top like you find in some books then i definitely recommend this book and I'm looking forward to where book 2 takes us.

Review: A Workplace Affair by Isabella Rae

4 Stars
"Best idea I've ever had, was you."

There are those once in a lifetime opportunities that come along, that in your wildest dreams would never happen to you. When independent Victoria Bryant's opportunity comes, a climb up the corporate ladder turns into an affair with the owner. Now she must make decisions that will change her life forever. Will she choose to forgive the man she's grown to love, or watch him walk away and give up everything that might have been...

When Leland Ambrose started his company he was young and in charge, but when he meets Victoria, he discovers a weakness he hadn't counted on. A weakness so great his company could pay the price. Will he stand up for the woman he loves, or protect the company he's worked so hard to build.

Firstly I want to say if I had a boss like Leland I would so go back to work. I loved that there were no bullshit pasts to work get over, crazy exes coming out the woodwork and try to screw things up for the couple.

Victoria is loving, looks after her friends, feisty, loyal which are all characteristics I love in a person. She and her best friend Sage from school who came back into her life after her marriage breakup are awesome, the way she helped Sage after the downfall breakup I can only hope I have a friend like Victoria, and not to mention Nick and Carter who I adored.

Now to Leland oh my goodness!!! I want a Leland doesn't have to be rich or any of that but just be the type of person who goes after what he wants. He isn't the usual over the top billionaire who is crazy alpha which isn't bad but its refreshing to read a main male character who is going to go bat shit crazy over stupid shit.

From there first face to face meeting you could feel the sexual tension between the two and you were just waiting for the fireworks, and boy did Miss Rae deliver. As I said above there was no crazy pasts or exes to contend with, just normal relationship complications coming from dating a very rich man, him buying you a whole new wardrobe and whatever else you happened to look at lol.

There was really only one part where I wanted to slap Victoria to wake her up even though I understood where she was coming from but not giving Leland the chance he needed to explain I was like damn woman just shut up listen think rationally and lets fix this cuz you two are supposed to be god damn it!!! I loved the ending I'm looking forward to reading Sage's story in book 2 hope to see more of Leland and Victoria.

Review: Unchained by J.Lynn

"It was like a date-a weird, twisted date that would probably end with them killing something."

Between the pissed off creatures that want demon hunter Lily Marks dead and the fallen angel who just...wants her, Lily is about ready to trade in forever for a comfy job in a cubicle farm.

The fact that she and Julian are civil to one another is enough for her to have her thrown out of the Sanctuary, but she can't shake her not so angelic stalker or how he brings her dangerously close to ecstasy.

Her forbidden relationship with Julian provides the perfect fuel for suspicion when a traitor is discovered to be working within the Sanctuary. Lily quickly finds herself hunted by well everyone.

Her only hope to discover the real traitor before she loses everything and she'll need Julian's help. That is, if Julian is really there to help her...and not destroy her.

Yeah, being a nephilim isn't everything its cracked up to be.

This book has being on my e-reader for ages and I kept putting it off and now that I have read it I don't know why cuz that was freaking AWESOME!!!

The Story is about a Nephilim named Lily who is an awesome heroine, she kicks butt, sexy, independent, fearsome, and all around cool. Then we have the fallen angel Julian *swoon*, he also kicks butt definitely sexy and would do anything for Lily, even though in there world they should be enemies who should have killed each other, but he keeps breaking "tradition" and has saved Lily's life numerous times over the eight years they have known each other although Julian tends to stalk her.

Then one night everything changes when she finds a "deadhead" or "minion" sorry can't remember which lol about to kill a cop who turns out could be pretty important but they have no idea why. So she knocks Micheal out and realises she has done something wrong. So she calls for back up and they take him back to the Sanctuary. Where Lily ends up having to train him because he has no idea what he is and they have to break it to him. She has no patience and little hot-headed is putting it nicely but she is loyal to the Sanctuary and does as she is told.

Now comes the part about someone being a traitor to the Sanctuary and because of her "relationship" with the fallen angel Julian she is suspected after a few events don't turn out in her favour against the accusations. There is action all through the book but it isn't over the top makes turning the page that much more exciting because you want to know what happens next, then we get the the sexy times and OMG they are sexy but again not over the top tastefully done and god who doesn't want to her about Julian again *SWOON*.

From the first chapter the book puts you straight into the world of fallen angels, nephilim, and deadheads and minions, and you want to read it in one sitting just wanting to know who the traitor is, seeing Lily and Julian and even the side characters who bring the story together. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out hope it isn't to far away although I'm willing to wait because I read everything this writer which is a pseudonym for Jennifer L Armentrout puts out cuz she is amazing!!! Thanks so much for putting out another awesome book that will have people hooked and wanting more I know that I do.

Review: Wicked Games by A.D. Justice

4 Stars

Investigative reporter Brianna Tate has stumbled upon a story of a lifetime but she has no idea it will change her entire life. When the story thrusts her into a web of lies that puts her life in danger, she has to choose between seeing the man she loves destroyed or giving up her entire life to enter WITSEC. After three years of living someone else's life, everything changes when her true identity and location is discovered. She is forced to leave protective custody to save the man she still loves.
Noah Steele owns a successful business with Steele Security, providing security escorts for the nations top officials, wealthy elitists, and high profile visiting dignitaries. What he keeps from everyone in his life is that he never fully recovered from losing Brianna. He shares his bed with other women but never his heart. Noah's life now revolves around his work until one night he stumbles upon an intruder in his house he learns that the intruder is actually his long-dead love Brianna.
With her sudden reappearance, Noah discovers the passion that once fueled their relationship is still there, burning hotter then ever. However, even love cant erase the betrayal Noah experiences after learning that Brianna faked her death and has been in hiding this whole time. Noah must decide if he can accept she that she betrayed him and caused him the worst pain in his life. Learning that she is alive and seemingly fine without him may be more than he can take.
Brianna's relationships with everyone at Steele Security is teetering precariously on a ledge. Loyalty and honesty is key with the men who once looked at her as a sister but now openly don't trust her. Can they work together to identify the real threat, save his business and their own lives? Or will Noah lose the only woman he's ever loved, twice in a lifetime, in his fight against the tangled web of lies and betrayal that surround him? Recommended for readers 18+ due to language, violence and sexual content.

I was sent a copy of Wicked Games for an honest review.

Wicked Games is about a girl named Brianna who has come out of Witness Protection when the man who she needed protecting from came back and she came back to save the life of the man she loved Noah.

You learn the back story of Brianna and Noah and its a beautiful story from where they meet in the Middle East she being an investigavtive reporter and Noah being a Delta Force and we meet his team Shadow, Rebel, Bull, Judge, and Noah is Reaper. Up until she is on a story that implicates Judge who is Richard Hollingsworth and Noah is unknownly in the middle of it.

The story is told from Noah and Brianna's POV and every now and then Richard has a say. There are twists and turns some you see coming and some you don't but it keeps the story going and you want to see what happens next. The ending is left open for the next book in the series but not so that i was going to throw my kindle against the wall which was refreshing, I will get the second book to see where the story goes as i really did enjoy it, the action wasn't over the top the sex was hot and the love you feel between all the characters is the cherry on top.

I loved all the characters Brianna is independent and fiesty and I love that in a female character, Noah  is alpha but not over the top and I loved his "brothers" from the Delta Force how they look after each other including how close they are to Bri.

I recommend this book if you want a quick read that as above mentioned sex, action and things in between.

And meeting Jazz is no different. However being in love makes you do crazy things and his crazy has major consequences. Especially when the truth is revealed to others who are determined to rip them apart.
Rash decisions have major consequences. Some good. Some bad. All are life changing.
"The truth doesn't always set you free. Sometimes it breaks you apart and leaves you in pieces."

A knock on my window has me jumping out of my memory and out of my skin. Looking around I see i'm parked. Guess I was so out of it and involved in my daydream I don't even remember doing it. I turn toward the knocking and see Mason standing there with a concerned look on his cute face. I step out of the car and lock it, but don't make a move to walk toward him because his attire catches me off guard.

Instead of his usual logo t-shirt and jeans, he's wearing a dark green polo and fitted khaki pants. He's even sporting some Sperry's on his feet. Now it feels like a date cause we are both dressed up. However, I always dress up like this.

Well, not exactly like this. I mean I don't always wear something so tight, but i'll be fat in a few months and won't be able to fit into it anymore. It's a mid thigh sweater dress with a scoop neck that's the same shade of pink as my lipstick. I have a thin brown belt around my waist and matching five-inch heeled boots that reach my calves. I decided against the tights though because I seem to be having hot flushes lately.

We stand there for what feels like forever staring at one another. How did we go from comfortable conversation to uncomfortable silence? Before I can compliment on his clothes I hear someone call his name. I look in the direction at the same time he does and see a girl about my age or older with dark, brown hair in a stylish pixie cut walking our way.

She's staring me down with her creepy golden eyes like I'm a threat. Oh hell no! I straighten my shoulders and do what I do best. Not take shit. I've never let anyone see my insecurites except for one and that will be the last time, because people like to play on your weaknessess. She finally looks toward Mason when she reaches us and smiles sweetly. "Here idiot. You almost left your phone" She hands it to him and bumps his shoulder with hers playfully. I see some type of relationship here, but i'm not sure if it's romantic one or not.

"Shit. Sorry about that." He turns towards me smiling and is completely unaware of the bitch stare this girl is still giving me. :Jazz this is Chanda. Chanda this is Jazz." Chanda? what kind of name is that? I internally slap myself for acting like I care. Because I shouldn't and don't. Only my friends call me Jazz and I have a feeling Chanda and I will not be a friend any time soon if ever. I stick out my hand gracing her with manners my parents raised me with. "Please call me Jasmine. Nice to meet you Chanda."

Ignoring my polite introduction and protruded hand she looks at Mason. "Remember, I need to be at work at midnight." Then she walks away. "Well she's lovely." I lower my hand and shake off the embarssment before I get back into my car. Watching Mason walk around to get in I fight down the urge to drive over Chanda while her backs turned. I have a feeling this won't be he last time the compulsion crosses my mind with that bitch.

My name is Robin and I live in Alabama. I grew up an army brat and traveled alot until we finally settled down along the Gulf Coast when i was 4. My husband is 9 years younger so I guess that makes me a COUGAR. I have a little girl who is 9 and is blind as well as autistic. My life is not boring with them two in it. Believe Me.
I have always loved creating and I would constanly draw on my walls. I love painting and reading. Writing is something I wanted to do but didn't think I could, until I woke up at three a.m a few months back and started writing. Life has a way of throwing rocks at you and putting cracks in you soul. Either you can duck and cover or you can make something beautiful from the cracks. After that, the story took over. Even though some pieces of my life experience are within it, it is Tru and Jax's story now. I have truly fell in love with this story and I hope you do too.

Review: Night Owl by M.Pierce

5 Stars
"I never want to learn how to say goodbye".
Love is unstoppable....

At twenty-eight Matt Sky has the perfect life. He has a beautiful girlfriend, a massive inheritance, and four national best sellers-all penned under his airtight alias, M.Pierce.

At twenty-seven Hannah Catalano has a train wreck. Her boyfriend is a deadbeat and her job is abysmal.

Matt and Hannah meet online as writing partners. Their relationship is safe, anonymous, and innocent...

Until Matt sees a picture of Hannah.

Hannah's picture sparks and attraction Matt is powerless to ignore. When circumstance brings Matt and Hannah together, the strangers begin a love story thats passionate, poignant, unforgettable, and unstoppable.

That was freaking awesome!!!!

The story is hot the sex is hotter, kinkier, and just plain scorching. M. Pierce that was a huge surprise, wasn't sure going in but right from the start I couldn't put the book down and read it in one sitting, paying for the lack of sleep today lol but so totally worth it.

It's a love story that has it's usual ups and downs and some that not everyone has to go through. You feel for Matt the reclusive writer and he is god damn hot and kinky!!! He has his share of demons which he tries to hide but you can't help but feel something for him, and Hannah I love having a strong female character you see her break down like anybody else would in that situation but she doesn't give up she wakes up and fights for what she wants and that's Matt.

The book doesn't have a cliffhanger in a sense it's wrapped but nicely and I loved how it ended and then I read the epilogue and was like WTF??? You can't end the book and then write the epilogue the way it was written but that's what makes this book more intense. It has me longing for the second book in this trilogy and cannot wait till it comes out supposedly in January which isn't to far but far enough!!

Great Job M.Pierce you have a fangirl right here!!!
