"Beyond the ocean and the world and the stars. You're mine beyond that, baby, and I'm yours."
With more lives at stake and games in motion, Ellie, Camden and Javier form an uneasy alliance that will take them from the treacherous streets of inner-city Mexico to the wilds of the Honduran jungles in order to find their freedom. But with liberty just on the horizon, the cost might come at their own redemption.
The final book in Karina Halle's The Artist's Trilogy starts where the second book Shooting Scars leaves us with the unlikely trio of Ellie, Camden and Javier just escaping Travis's compound and trying to outrun the cartel. Right from the start its all action and quite fast paced going from one thing to the other introducing new characters along the way.
In this story you see Ellie start wising up and stop feeling sorry for herself over what happened and what her life turned out like, which was refreshing while still being the bad ass who will do anything for the people she cares about and loves.
The romance that Ellie and ???? rekindle is a big part of the story it isn't just helicopter chases, gun fights, car chases you name its probably in there at some point bombs and shit going off. You see Ellie recognize what life is about and what she is missing out on and decides from there that she needs to tell ??? that she loves him and needs to know if it is reciprocated.
The ending like WOW through all the twists and turns whats going to happen or what you think and its completely not how you thought it was going to go down makes you keep wanting more and giving up everything for the day to see how its all winds down between the acts of revenge and betrayal and how you are loyal to the ones who deserve it.
I love Karina's style of writing from all her books from the EIT series to this one she knows how to keep the story going and leaving her reader's hearts beating so fast you think your going to have a heart attack. Keep up the great work I will read any of your books and i'm constantly recommending them to all my friends.
"I fucking need you and I need you to forgive me. I need that more than anything in the world! I need you to make me good."
